Over the past week we've experienced some technical problems with our website and e-mail accounts. Volunteer in Chiang Mai December Update
Today is Thai Constitution Day, which is a national holiday for all of us in Chiang Mai. Marie-Luise has completed her project today and we will see the arrival of one new Medical Intern on Monday morning. We currently have ten volunteers here with us in Chiang Mai, with many more coming over the next week.<br />
Volunteering in Thailand in December, 2010
Happy December and Holiday Season to everyone! Blue skies, sunny warm weather, cool nights… this is a great time of year here in Chiang Mai and Thailand. Apparently a lot of people know this, as our volunteer numbers and bookings are really up. We will see a total of eleven new volunteers and interns start their projects this month.<br />
Not Your Average Volunteer in Thailand
When people think of volunteering in Thailand or overseas, they think of young, idealistic university students. This is a fair assumption, as we have had many young people volunteer in our projects. In most cases young people bring a lot to our volunteer Thailand projects, with the energy and good will they possess. However, with this update posting I would like to tell you about the different and interesting people that I have been lucky enough to know, befriend and volunteer with throughout my experience with Friends for Asia and volunteering with the US Peace Corps.<br />
Volunteer Thailand Update
I’m sitting here in my office here at the Friends for Asia Volunteer House, after one of the busiest weeks we’ve ever had. We currently have 17 volunteers and interns in our Thailand projects. I’ve really enjoyed listening to the volunteer stories throughout this festive week, leading up to the Loy Krathong holiday celebrations this weekend. Here are some of the stories I have heard:<br />
