Student Group Volunteers - Thailand!
As we get closer to the summer of 2015, we would like to present our High School Student Group Projects. In March of 2015, we hosted a high school group from Hong Kong. The group came to participate in a project in Chiang Mai, where they volunteered with children at a local children's home, learned and worked with elephants at a local elephant camp and visited the iconic Sunday Night Street market in the center of Chiang Mai.
Summer Medical Internship Abroad
Friends for Asia offers several exciting internships in Thailand, all of which offer applicants the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience in a dynamic, cross-cultural environment. With summer fast approaching, we’ve already started receiving plenty of inquiries about the availability of our Medical Internship Projects.
14 Years Since UN First Declares International Year of Volunteers
Since October 24, 1945, the United Nations has been both angel and insect to people throughout the globe; initially viewed by many as a threat of Orwellian “New World Order” – it made many people all over the world nervous when so many governments would begin “playing nice” with one another.
University of Georgia Student Volunteers and Interns in Thailand
We are in our second year of receiving a lot of volunteers and interns from the University of Georgia. Both our Bangkok and Chiang Mai Medical Internship Projects have been popular choices for UGA applicants. However, many of our other projects have also received a fair amount of interest, especially our Teaching Monks and Rural Schools Project.
These projects provide authentic access to Thai communities, beyond typical tourist experiences. The connections formed while volunteering create lasting impacts, both for volunteers and the local people whose lives they touch.
